I don't know why, but I had a dream about Clover last night and then found this obit. I'm sorry to read of her passing. I doubt you will remember me, Winsome, but I worked with your mom at Standard Auto Glass for 8 years until it was sold. I wasn't her supervisor (Donna McLellan was, and passed many years ago, far too young). But I did get to know your mom a bit and respected her work ethic and her love of family and pride in her two children. I remember her bringing an album with photographs of wedding cakes she had decorated. She was immensely talented. Anyway, I wanted you to know that while you (and maybe not even your mom) might remember me, I do remember her with great fondness. May she rest in peace.

Mom, You were my best friend, my sister, my plus one, my ride or die. Everything I am today, I owe to you. Even through your pain, you were taking care of me. Coming from work on a cold Winter's night, I can always depend on the bowl of soup because you knew that I will never refuse soup (I will refuse pea soup, you knew that too). "Pickney why yuh won't stop hop truck"? "Gal Pickney, what meck yuh love behave like tomboy, suh"? "Pickney if yuh grandparents eva see yuh"! Then she tells me to "gwaan home"! Clover was the "aunt" that disciplined me anywhere, anytime. You are now reunited with your friend - my mother. RIP my love. I loved you. In my heart forever. Condolences to the children, grands and family.
