Obituary of Monica Yola Neilson

On Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Chartwell Westbury Home the world lost a beautiful soul that enjoyed life, family members and many friends. “Jen” what many called her, was born August 15, 1928 in Mavis Bank St. Andrew, Jamaica West Indies. Jen migrated to Canada where she worked as a quality control inspector for GM Motors. Jen was always there to brighten the lives of others. She had a willingness to give to any and all, and always a witty joke. She loved to cook and bake, if you left her home hungry or without laughing till your stomach hurt then you must not have had the pleasure of knowing this force of nature!  Monica “Jen” is survived by her sister (Vinette Foster, USA) her many nieces to which one of whom many of you know her pseudo daughter Jean Barrett,USA (husband Errol) to which she was very close to, and considered her to be the daughter she never had. Many nephews and grand nieces & nephews that she loved and adored. “Jen would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. So please rejoice and revel in the time we got to spend laughing, dancing and loving life with her, take a moment to raise a glass and say a toast in honor of her.
