A Tribute to Bishop Escoffery
*The Impact of One Life*
When a stone is dropped into a lake,
it quickly disappears from sight-
but its impact leaves behind a series of ripples that broden and reach across the water.
In the same way, the impact of one life lived for Christ leaves behind an influence for good that touches the lives of many others.
-Roy Lessin
The testimony for Christ that your loved one has left behind will continue to be a blessing to many. Praying God's encouragement and comfort will give you peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.
The memory of the righteous will be a blessing.
-Proverbs 10:7

A TRIBUTE TO PASTOR
We all have different fond memories of pastor. No matter what our individual memories are,
we all agree on his unique traits. He was kind, caring, compassionate, generous and helpful. I remember two occasions in which these traits were displayed.
On one of those occasions, maybe 20 years ago, he displayed his helpful and generous side.
My sister’s apartment in Toronto had a fire that destroyed close to half of her belongings. I told pastor that I was looking to rent a van to move some stuff from storage to the apartment. Pastor said to me, “I’ll do it.” I was surprised that he wanted to do that for us. We agreed on meeting at my home at 9 o’clock, but pastor was there at 8:30. We went to the storage to pick up some items to take back to the apartment. When we got to the apartment we found out the elevator was not working. Pastor took the stuff in his hands up the stairs to the apartment. That was pastor, no job too small nor too big. He volunteered to help out and was prepared to not let anything get in the way of him doing so.
On another occasion, just this past April, my husband contracted Covid-19 and was hospitalized.
Pastor called to talk to me but did not get me. He called Sis Rohanna to find out what was happening to us. He told Sis Rohanna to tell me to call him. When I called him, he wanted to know how Bro. Leo was doing and to tell him that he was praying for his recovery. Pastor took time out from his pain and suffering to offer care and compassion to someone who was enduring pain and suffering. When you consider that at that point in time, pastor was at one of the lowest points in his illness and he mustered the strength and fortitude to rise above his illness in favour of offering comfort and hope to Bro. Leo.
These two examples of pastor going over and above to help others are what endeared him to me.
I shall never forget him. Neither shall my sister nor Bro. Leo.
May he rest in peace. Sister Pansy

I met Bishop when I was invited to church by Pansy. He greeted me in a way that made me feel comfortable. As if we already met. He said "Welcome sister".
Bishop later invited me to a revival coming up the following week. Thankfully so. I was looking forward to revival. It was strange because I had a dream of a girl dressed in all white calling me to follow her and then my phone rang, waking me up. I was so curious. What was the dream all about? The following week I had another dream. This time I was in my son's room. The phone rang, and I answered. I immediately said, "yes I want to be baptized." The person on the other end said "how do you know that is what I was calling you about" and I replied "I don't, but that's what I want"
So I took this as a clear sign and decided to speak with Bishop. I told him I wanted to be baptized, and he laughed. I was surprised. He said He was going to ask me about accepting the lord. Wow! The lord works in mysterious ways.
Baptism was coming up on Sunday. Before the baptism bishop asked all the people that will be baptized, please stand up. I didn't.
Later that day after service Bishop called Pansy to ask her if I'm not getting baptized. Pansy called me afterward to ask as well. She shared her opinions and what the bishop had said. I then called him to explain what was on my mind. His response was welcoming. This experience was encouraging. Talking to him was easy. I could come to him with whatever is going o in my life and he always had a bible verse with the answer. Powerful and incredible.
Bishop does not plan things, he works through the spirit. I'm happy I had an opportunity to know him. Truly a special man. Those we love don't go away. They remain in our hearts. The love he left behind will be forever cherished. S.I.P Bishop Sister Rohanna

Bishop and I go way-back: he was more than a Brother-in-Law, he was very good with my children. He was a Brother, Pastor, Father and an Adviser. I could talk to him about anything, he gives good advise. Try not to have Bishop laugh at you! We will miss him a lot! Sister Marlene

My sincere condolences to the Escoffery family. You are in my prayers.
I like to remember my Bishop as a man who, had a huge sense of humor! He knew how to have fun with his family and the church family. Whenever we had a skitt about him , he was one of the first to laugh at his character, because those children knew how to imitate him exactly. He would attend all social functions that our family would throw if it were possible. I always enjoyed playing one of his favorite games with or against him....we all know what game the was, yes.... *Dominoes *.
Bishop Tyrone was extremely knowledgeable about the bible and would teach his flock well. He was a strong man of prayer. I felt blessed to have been under his tutelage in my Christian journey.
Bishop I miss you. Again sorry for your loss to my auntie and my cousins. Rest in Peace Bishop.

Bishop Escoffery, a great uncle and Bishop and will be greatly missed. A man that was happy, very down to earth and did not let trivial things bother him. He taught the same. He laughed, he loved, he shared, he impacted, he preached with passion, he demonstrated a love for the Lord that makes you want to experience and demonstrate the same. He had a faith that could not be shaken and he was not afraid to show it. He was a wonderful person.
I pray strength for the family, immediate and extended as he touched the lives of many.
May he rest in peace.

Please accept our sincere condolences Pastor Janet and Family; It is with heavy hearts that we write these words. Bishop Escoffery will always be remembered for the Honorable, Humble, Selfless Man that he was. He lived by example; what you see is what you get! Indeed he was a true Shepherd, always going after the lost sheep. You will forever be in our hearts, your laughter will be missed, one of your favorite songs manifested Bishop "May the works I've done, speak for me". Walk Good Bishop! Sister Davene and Family....
