Shocking to hear of your demise but then I definitely know you're in Abraham's bosom right not... I definitely remember you at Ebute Meta always cautioning the little Oladokun Damilola then... How you'd sit and chill right in at the entrance of the Church via the back.... How you always had that golden smile towards we the elementary kids. I remember asking around when I didn't see you again again little did I know you were movee to Anthony. Your Smile is and will always be with me Sir.

Daddy Shough!!!!!!!
As a child back then at Ebute meta, I always looked forward to your teachings/ sermons, especially because you would quote Bible references in a heartbeat and from memory. You were my "Rev. G. K. Ajayi of Ebute meta". I wanted to be that kind of Bible scholar and this encouraged me to study the scriptures diligently. In the area of welfare, Mummy had always been a fantastic Sunday school teacher and a kind mum, but I got to personally experience the super caring side of you at Oworo. You and Mummy always looked out for my family. ALWAYS!!! Your interventions were timely. You were genuinely concerned about every aspect of our lives. As minor as a slight headache wouldn't go unattended to. And when we had any challenge, you knew at least something about everything! Yourself and Mummy lived exemplary lives. You loved God and yourselves and that love radiated to all who knew you. You were so in sync with mummy so much so that one couldn't refer to one without mentioning the other. And now you're gone, united with the Lord and Mummy.
We're comforted knowing you lived such a fulfilled life here on earth, and look forward to that great reunion someday.
Our heartfelt prayers and condolences are with the family.
Good night, Daddy Shough!

I thank God for knowing the departed man of God several years ago. My association with his son, Tosin was a stepping stone for me in building a relationship with him. I will never forget the part he played when I almost lost my dad to sickness many years ago. He provided all the tips I needed to nurse my dad back to good health via nutrition. He even gave me a copy of his book free of charge!
He became a friend to my dad afterwards.
The last time I saw him late 2021, he still enquired after my dad's wellbeing.
He was a mentor and an astute interpreter. A quality God helped me to emulate in my personal journey as an interpreter too.
Words have failed me to express my feelings. But I will strive to keep following his good example so i can see him at last with other saints of God.
Bonne nuit papa, à demain.

Elegy for our departed Br. Taiwo Shobukola, the Gallant Protocol Icon
Recalling the notable life of our dear Brother Taiwo Shobukola is like savouring the sweet fragrance of an ointment. As a Protocol Officer of the Apostolic Faith, he exemplified gallantry, nobility and panache. He was a stickler for time, orderliness and exactness. Little wonder, he was able to join the top echelon of the Group with time.
Brother Shobukola did not have time for elaborate preparations, possibly because he believed that if a round peg was put in a round hole, perfection was guaranteed. In everything, Jesus must come first. One of his hidden talents is the ability to encourage young people coming behind. He loathed “Pull him down spirit,” and would always encourage a new member, no matter how small or young to have a say at meetings, thereby increasing ordinary members’ faith in the wonders peculiar to God only.
We are confident that the fond memories evoked by his good example would continue to generate tidal wave of enthusiasm in all who appreciated his passion, and his portrait of God of all possibilities based on Sound Doctrine.
We pray your consecration and physical sacrifice prompt the younger generation to follow in your footsteps in Jesus name.
Good night, Brother Shobukola till Resurrection Morn’

Goodbye Brother Taiwo Shobukola
We felt one hesitation to believe when it first filtered into the air that you were gone. How could we have accepted that our ebullient Chairman, Family Education and Empowerment Department would leave us without a bye? Our doubt quickly dissipated when we realised your parting words when leaving for Canada, “I am going to rest,” was a somber rehearse for ‘I am going Home!’
We cannot forget how you always wanted us to do it right. You had no time for frivolities, lateness or distractions. No, you do not want any of it. How can we forget your encouraging words in times of distress? You were a man for the season, knowing how to prompt and discipline at the appropriate time. You always wanted every point situated in the Bible
Even now that you are gone, we do not mourn your death, we celebrate your life. Rest in the bosom of your Maker till Resurrection Morning when we shall see one another and rejoice.
Adieu, valiant soldier of the Cross!

The call "Tai Tai", like our late father Rev A. A. Adegboye would fondly call late Rev Shobukola, echoes memories of a simple but focused and principled gentleman. Engineer Shobukola was one of the professionals that worshipped at the Apostolic Faith church in the 1970s. His exposure and background as a young man made him gravitate towards our parents. It was an interesting sight to see little John accompany his father to the high table when Mr Adegboye was called to be the chairman at the wedding reception of Taiwo and Biodun Shobukola. Over the years, the bond of friendship between the Adegboyes and Shobukolas did not just persist but was transmitted from parents to children.
Late Rev Shobukola was a strong uniting force within his family. He offered himself selflessly to his wife, children and everyone close to him. His arms were always available for AFM brethren, living on Lagos/Victoria island, to lean on. There was space in his vehicle to make it easy for brethren to go to and return from church, he and his wife would promptly respond to those challenged with sickness or women in the labour room, his house was a safe haven for young graduates just starting their career in companies on the island and seeking for a means to avoid the monstrous traffic within Lagos metropolis. He left behind researched publications which will continue to benefit all who desire to overcome health challenges.
While he excelled on his job at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, he also used the opportunity to tell the intelligentsia associated with the institute about Christ who had saved his soul. After all, when records of all earthly effort pass away, work done to propagate Christ's kingdom will be eternally rewarded. Rev Shobukola made the right choice to live for Christ all through his adult life. We are challenged to follow the same track.
With Love - The Adegboyes

The news of the passing away of "Uncle Taye" hit like a bolt out of the blue. It was so sudden.
BroTaye, Uncle Taye, Bro Shobukola, Rev Shobukola, Baba Sho were some of the terms of endearment I and my family had for him. He was a rare gentleman.
My earliest recollection of him was when he used to come to our house to see" Aunty Biodun" who was recuperating from an illness when she was a student at Yaba Tech then in the mid 70s. He was Bro Taye then and as time went on he became Uncle Taye. Before long it dawned on me that they were soul mates destined for each other. "Aunty Biodun" could hardly say a sentence without mentioning his name.
When they got married they were already my favourite Uncle and Aunty.
The Shobukolas'home was my home. All through secondary school, University days till I got married and had children,my family was always welcome to stay at their home. During school holidays and campmeetins I would just deposit my son at their home for weeks. Uncle Taye will even be the one calling months in advance when I will bring my son. Tobi, Tosin and Toye played the role of Big brothers to my son.
Baba Sho! Never a cross word from his mouth. He was God fearing, a dedicated Man of God, a loving Dad, a doting husband and a very welcoming host.
He will be greatly missed.
Most sincere condolences to the Shobukola brothers and their families. May the Lord comfort, console and strengthen you all. May we all have assured testimonies when our time comes.
Rev Taye Shobukola, Uncle Taye, Bro Taye, Baba Sho!!
Rest in peace Sir.

I met Rev. Taiwo Shobukola and his lovely wife the first time when they came to Canada after their grandson Daniel was born. During this visit the Toronto folks were able to hear him preached several times at which he encouraged every Christian to serve God endlessly. It was also a previlege to share our humble table with him and his family during his first visit to Toronto. They came to Toronto the second time when Bro Tobi's daughter Deborah was born and the same humble man of God has never changed, always smiling as he greets everyone in the church. The third and his final visit was full of great memories. He was present at every Sunday service since we started in-person meetings. His constant reminder to me after service would be, "Bro. Randy, I am praying for you, God will bless your ministry and the Toronto church". His last church service attendance happened to be in Toronto which will leave a lasting memory. Even though he was already feeling weak that day, he knelt down at the end of the service and prayed a long time. After prayers, he requested a group picture which we did. Sir, your memories will remain in our hearts. My prayer to God that I will be counted worthy to meet you again in that eternal life.

There was a man. There was a Technocrat. There was a Perfect Gentleman. There was a Devout Servant of God who did his job well. You were the Man. Thank you Sir, for all your Spiritual advice, direction and leading. Oworonsoki branch church was at its highest glory under you as a servant of God who feared God and lead the flock of God well. You stood your ground, you disciplined where necessary. You were a Man of Integrity and will not compromise the standards of the Gospel. You cared, loved, mentored, taught and pointed us heaven-ward. You were a man of prayer and encouraged us to pray and pray and pray, not surprised that was your last and farewell admonition to your group. You fought a good fight, you kept the faith and now you have gone to receive your Crown of Righteousness which the Lord has promised. I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing on of our beloved brother Taiwo Shobukola. I had the great privilege of working with him when he served as head of public relations and protocol department at WECA headquarters. He took over the mantle of leadership of the department after the home call of brother Solomon Onabolu.
He was a quiet leader who led by example and inspired all those who worked with him. Brother Shobukola exhibited many of the Lord’s divine attributes: goodness, kindness, faithfulness, dedication, singlemindedness, love, patience, joy, steadfastness, and so many more. He was humble to the core, yet a giant in many ways that took nothing for himself and gave all the praise to God.
It is bittersweet to hear of his homegoing, as he will be dearly missed. I pray God to count me worthy to see our beloved brother and father in the Lord on the resurrection morn.

Elder was a generous giver. He made sure people around him were happy and was always ready to help others. He was so accommodating, always ensuring that everyone, once saved are accommodated in the very little spaces we have on the campground.

I thank God for the life of bro Shobukola . We were neighbors so to say at Victoria Island Lagos for many years. Then, I was sickly and he would come many times to take care of me, sometimes with his wife of blessed memory. He spent his time , money, energy and possession on me.
We attended the same Branch Church at Ebute-meta, Yaba, Lagos. He was very dutiful. He was kind. He was approachable. He would give our children sweet to eat. He was friendly even to children.
He was a Minister of God. He was a Sunday school teacher. He was an interpreter.
My earliest recollection of him was at Anthony Headquarters where every Sunday morning, he along with a junior choir would give us, I mean the congregation well rehearsed song presentations. During Camp meetings, we, in the music class would wash plates with, he as our leader. He was humble. He cracked jokes and smilingly called me unkulu like people called me. He had done his bit. We miss him. God bless his family left behind.

TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED BROTHER AND FRIEND
My body and soul are weak to write this tribute to my beloved brother and friend, Rev. Taiwo Shobukola who slept in the Lord on 5th January, 2022. I met bro Shobukola as a student in Yaba college of Technology in 1970/71. My meeting him was a blessing and he became a wonderful companion. God used him to establish my feet in the gospel being a young convert after a devastating civil war.
Through him I came to know Sister Olive and mummy Ogunsanwo the younger sister all of the blessed memory. They became mothers to me and took care of me, an indigent student. They made my first camp meeting in 1971 memorable and I was able to pray through to my Christian experiences.
Our friendship blossomed to the point that we lived together in one room, slept together on one bed, ate from the same pot and plate as if were siblings. Our friendship was almost the friendship between David and Jonathan.
His wife, Sister Biodum Shobukola(nee Adenuga) was my classmate at Yaba college of Technology. This helped to cement our friendship more. When I returned to East in 1981, I left my niece, Rhoda Osho(nee Ahukanna) in his custody to enable her write her WAEC exam.
Through him also my niece was employed at his place of work. Bro Shobukola’s family became a second home and I lodged with him anytime we came for camp meeting with my family.
Bro Taiwo as I called him, was a holy man of God and a lover of the gospel. He fought a good fight and kept the faith and I believe he has joined the church triumphant with his beloved wife.
It pains me that my friends; Shobukola, Biodum and Dayo Albert Abe have left me and I will join them in the land of endless friendship one day if the Lord tarries his coming.
Adieu my friend. Adieu a gallant soldier of Christ.

I am very happy that I had the opportunity to know Rev. Shobukola. For a long time, I only knew him as Late Rev. Shoyinka’s interpreter with his signature phrase “Sugbon sha”. A few years ago, when I started attending Family Development Directorate, FDD, and FEED (Family Education and empowerment Dept) meetings I was privileged to get better acquainted with him (He was the chairman of FEED).
He was a very thorough man and loves an excellent job. He was also very intelligent with a good memory. He is also a very principled man that is not afraid of going against popular opinion. He helps to get a balanced perspective on issues by critically debating ideas. I personally enjoyed those debates and I look forward to them. FEED meetings will never be the same without him.
He never saw himself as old, he asked me to get him a Rubik’s cube when he saw one with me. His prayers were always heartfelt but the quality that made the most impression on me was his exceptional devotion and dedication to his family especially his late wife. It was good to know that one can love and serve God passionately and still be dedicated to his family. It took a while to accept the fact that he is gone, it was too sudden and unexpected, but we are not without hope. Till we meet again sir.

Adieu Pa Shobukola
I don't need to pray that God bless your gentle soul as you are already blessed and resting in the bosom of your Lord and Saviour. You were always very soft spoken and a gentleman to the core, very caring and concerned about others. Your were a good teacher of the Word and a great mentor to most of us. You were a great interpreter per excellence and I always marvel at how you recall and interpreter most of what the preacher said; an evidence of the anointing of the Spirit of God on your life.
Wow, you are gone, gone so soon before we could see again. You have joined the Church triumphant and watching us as we continue the fight until we finish our pilgrimage here too.
May God console your children and the family you left behind including the church of God, and grant all the fortitude to bear your absence from the body. Sleep on brother till we meet again.

Daddy Shobukola, that's what I call you . Hmmmm, your exit was a rude shock! . You extended the love you have for my husband to me and being a daddy's girl , i couldn't resist.
You were a great dad not only to your children but to us too, great and loving grand dad to your grandchildren (your actions reminded me of my dad too much) and a very good Christian; you practiced what you preached. True soldier of Christ , raised 3 soldiers too.
Daddy, rest on, say hello to my dad over there.

Truly, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints" (Psalm 116:15). I spoke with brother Taiwo Sobukola just three days earlier before he was called into the Heavenly Rest hence I still felt like asking Tobi to speak with Dad each time I called. The Owner has taken him!
Brother Sobukola caught my attention in the late 70s and early 80s with his passion for evangelism and readiness to volunteer as he took the gospel news to schools. This passion could be noticed throughout his ministry.
He was a man who did not seek recognition or attention in his services to God as he served in different areas of the gospel work. Permit me to call him a "a gentle giant".
He will be remembered by all of us who knew him as we pray for God's continued comfort for his family and the church of God.

Rev Taiwo Shobukola was my special friend and a colleague since I met him in the Gospel almost forty years ago. He was a man of high integrity. Highly disciplined and a Christian to the core.
We worked together peacefully in the protocol dept. of the church for many years under Rev S.O.Onabolu (of blessed memory). Taiwo was diligent and hard working. A beloved of many people in the Gospel. Like Abraham, he trained all his children the way of the Lord.
Thank God, he flew to Canada to rest. From Canada gloriously flew to Heaven peacefully to his eternal rest. I pray that God Almighty will console and comfort his children, grandchildren, the Faith and his extended family. May God grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss Amen.
On the day of Resurrection, I pray that we shall meet again to part no more in Jesus Mighty Name Amen.

Tribute to Daddy Taiwo Alabi Shobukola, a Gallant Soldier of Christ
Hmmm!!!
The news of your departure to the great beyond came to us as a very rude shock, to say the least. It was really devastating! Why so? This is so because we were so surprised to hear the shocking news just few days after we spoke to exchange the New Year pleasantries on the morning of 1st Jan 2022.
God knows best and we cannot question HIM. He does things as HE pleases.
We knew Daddy Taiwo Shobukola in the mid-80s at AFM Antony Village Camp-Ground Church but we were not close then. As of then we only knew him as one of the very ardent and eloquent interpreters to the second Africa Overseer Rev Josiah O. Soyinka. We became close in 1994 when we were instructed and directed to move to Ebute-Metta AFM Church. Since that time up to the last time we saw, that is just before he travelled out, Daddy and Mummy Taiwo Shobukola had taken us, (my wife and my humble self) as their younger siblings from another parents. In spite of the age difference between us, they related very well with us as age mates, friends and colleagues. Daddy Shobukola was very kind, straight-forward and firm. He was a very great preacher and teacher of the Word who lived by the Word. He says things as they are. A strict but friendly disciplinarian.
During his lifetime, he was always ready to help even when it seemed difficult to do so. I could recollect a time about 15 years ago when The Shobukolas provided accommodation for my family at their J.R.A House before we were able to develop ours. Indeed, Daddy Shobukola has fought the good fight of faith just as we have it in II Timothy 4: 7-8.
A big loss here on earth but a great gain for heaven. He was indeed a gallant soldier of Christ to the end. We shall surely miss him.
Good Night, till the resurrection morning, our dear Daddy Taiwo Alabi Shobukola’ Adieu!!!!!

He loved and cared for the people around him with whatever he had and nourished people's souls with the word of God always. We will all miss his role as a brother, father, father in law, grandfather and a fellow minister of God in his church, Apostolic Faith church, Anthony village, Lagos. I had visited the Nigerian institute of international affairs in Victoria lsland to see a former high school classmate, who was then the PR of the institute. If l remember correctly, my classmate introduced me to him as the engineer of the facility and a Christian from apostolic faith. Then we got to know ourselves better. Most remarkably, my friend had told me how devoted a believer he was. That sought of encouraged me to live a life that would make me be a light anywhere the Lord places me. I am glad he is now where he desired most- heaven the home of the redeemed. TRIBUTE TO OUR BELOVED REV. TAIWO ALABI SHOBUKOLA
“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints”. (Psalm 116:15).
Rev. Shobukola sir, thank God for your exemplary, devoted, dedicated and committed Christian life. You did not stop there, you also impacted your whole family with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. As God vouched for Abraham saying, “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD…” (Genesis 18:19), you did exactly that also. Glory to God!!!
Your dedication to God and His work is encouraging and worth emulating. Your humility was unparalleled. One could see Jesus in you. You were a gallant soldier and God’s general. We are consoled that you have been ushered into glory with the welcome statement: “well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord”. (Matthew 25:23).
Rest in peace till we meet to part no more. We love you and will definitely miss you but God loves you most.

Brother Taiwo Sobukola was a colleague in the service of the Lord for decades.
We were young men, born-again Christians, who loved working for God with deep interest in each other. Though we were earning our living from our secular jobs, we were living for God. Our working day was not complete without topping the day's secular work with God's work in Anthony campgrounds.
He was a Bible Christian to the core and was so consecrated that he considered no sacrifice too much to make in the service of His Saviour. He led an exemplary and disciplined life that was a great asset to the image of the Apostolic Faith Church.
We all - his family, the Church and numerous friends (young and old) which his amiable disposition attracted - shall miss him. Nonetheless, ours is a celebration of life because with a mood reflecting the joy of eternal life which he has attained rather than the sadness of death which cruelly snatched him from us.
We shall meet him again that glorious resurrection morn to part no more.
Until then, ADIEU Brother Taiwo

Here is a true Soldier of the cross who fought gallantly and laid his sword at the foot of the cross. He spent and was spent for the Lord.
I worked with Bro Shobukola - as he is popularly called - serving two terms of 10 years on the Governing Board of AFSS Anthony. I admire his intellect, leadership, thoroughness and ability to understand other’s point of view. He led with the highest level of integrity. Always available and rendering voluntary service as Chairman of the Board.
Prior to the above, when he was Pastor of Oworo branch of AFM, I was part of the Audit team visiting Lagos state Churches. He came out completely clean as the Pastor. All records clean and no financial issues whatsoever concerning his person.
He has fought the battle and it’s time to rest at the bosom of the master he served so faithfully.

He was a father, grandfather and mentor to me. He always showed us the way of the Lord . He was always there to lead us in the right path . He’s my grandmother’s twin brother but I saw him as my own grandfather and I’m glad he played that role in my life . Grandpa ,I’ll miss you and I pray you have a very good rest I’m the bosom of the Lord . Rest In Peace grandpa ❤️

Rev. Shobukola was a man of high standards! He was an epitome of a gentle and righteous man! I personally describe him as
-Meek
-Humble
-Leader
-Faithful to the Calling of God
-An indeed a Child of God
Rev Shobukola has exemplified a very high level of a “closer work with God”!
Words are so incompetent to express the exact tribute!
It is so painful and heartbreaking to know that our beloved Daddy has departed!
However, it is also our joy to remember that Rev. Taiwo Shobukola has gone to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Also a brighter joy we have to know that one day, we shall see again in that Bright City where joy and happiness will never end!!
Goodnight daddy! You will be missed.
Your adopted son,
Tunde Otaraki.

Mr. Sho as he was fondly called then at NIIA was a Christian to the core. Even though he had ample opportunities to misuse his office, yet he demonstrated the fear of God in all his transactions. He was amiable to work with.
Living in apartment opposite each other, we raised our children together in love for many years. A family man teacher and friend of all.
May his soul and that of his wife rest in peace till the resurrection day when we meet at the Lord's feet. May the Lord console those left behind in Jesus name

Father, Husband, Brother, Grandfather, Pastor and Friend. These are a few things we can call the Late Pastor Taiwo Shobukola. To me he was Daddy. I was deeply saddened to hear about his passing. He was my mother's twin brother and has been there for me since I was born. He has been a Father to me since my own parents passed and his Late wife was a mother to me. From spending holidays with him to speaking on the phone and hearing his words of wisdom, he was a well fulfilled man and lived a good life. I pray when he gets to heaven he is welcomed as a good and faithful servant. We love him but God loves him more. I pray God grants him eternal rest and peace always. May God bless the home, family, children, grandchildren and all those he has left behind with good health and a long life.
Love always, Yemisi Abiola & Family (London)
