Obituary of Rosalind Virginia Bedeau

Rosalind Virginia Bedeau was born on April 1, 1950 in Cap-de-Ville, Point Fortin, Trinidad and Tobago to Albertina Bedeau and Norbert Lendore, and transitioned to her heavenly father on January 19, 2022. She attended Cap-de-Ville Government and ASJA Primary School as a child. As a teenager she sang and toured Trinidad as a member of the Point Fortin Nazarene Church's Youth for Christ choir.

Rosalind migrated to Canada in the early 1970s where she lived briefly in Montreal, Quebec and Saint John, New Brunswick, eventually settling in Brampton, Ontario where she lived until the time of her passing. Rosalind was a dedicated member of Brampton Church of the Nazarene for more than 40 years, and although she was employed in many industries, she truly enjoyed her work as an Employment Specialist up to her retirement.

Rosalind was the family historian and enjoyed engaging in lengthy conversations with her family and friends, having a great meal, listening to music, reading a good book, watching a good movie and praising the lord. Though separated from most of her family by hundreds of miles, “Auntie Rosalind,” as she was affectionally known by her many nieces and nephews, traveled often between her home in the Toronto area to Trinidad, New York City, and many other cities in the United States. It was not uncommon for her to cross national borders for weddings, family gatherings and holiday trips. Much beloved by her grandnieces and grandnephews, Rosalind had a special an affinity for, and was very much cherished by, the youngest in her family.

She is survived by her older brother John Bedeau and two younger sisters Alison Bedeau and Annette Bedeau, friend-sister Wilma Bedeau, cousin-brothers Glendon Bedeau and Augustine Bedeau, nieces and nephews Nigel Bedeau, Kendall Bedeau, Barry Bedeau, Akil David, Hayden Bedeau, Denniece Bedeau, Colin Bedeau, Jillian Bedeau-Callendar, Ato David, Chiwale Bedeau, Salisha Bedeau, Maiba Clarke, Renrick Bedeau, Ayoka Francis, Juma Bedeau, Omari David,  Uba David, Akemba Bedeau, Beverly Quashie, Ron Bedeau and Sean Bedeau, and a host of grandnieces and grandnephews. Rosalind was predeceased by her mother and father, her older sister Lenora Bedeau, and her niece Natasha Bedeau.

Her physical presence will be truly missed, but we are rest assured that she has joined her heavenly father and the ancestors that came before her.
