Obituary of Euginna Ettaline Johnson
In Loving memory of
Euginna Ettaline Johnson
Nov 12, 1929 – February 3, 2022
“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”
(2 Corinthians 5:8)
Euginna was born in Spanish Honduras, Central America and grew up in Kingston Jamaica. She transitioned to her Heavenly Father on February 3, 2022 at the age of 92 years.
She migrated to Canada in 1962 and resided in Ottawa (9 years) and Kitchener (42 years). She moved to Mississauga to spend the past 9 years with her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and great grand children.
She is survived by her daughter Pat (Joel Chacha), son (Keith Mutafya), brother (Vernon (Vie) Johnson), grandchildren (Aisha Chacha, Moita Chacha, Marwa Chacha and Robi Chacha), great grandchildren ( Dafina Royer-Chacha, Tajiri Royer-Chacha, Malika and Inaya Ponda ), nieces , cousins and friends.
Euginna was preceded by mother (Renella Johnson) father (Charles Johnson), sister (Curdell Irons), brother (Stanley Johnson).
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She loved to help children in need and took great joy in filling several “shoe boxes” at Christmas with toys and goodies” for needy children worldwide.
Euginna loved to travel and during her retirement years she visited, Kenya, England, Ireland, Nova Scotia, Hawaii, Jamaica, many Caribbean islands and USA states.
She enjoyed attending the theatre, picnics, dinners, and community and church events with her friends in Kitchener. She was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Kitchener.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of unit 1B and 1D, The Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga. We also want to thank the PSW’s from Spectrum Health Care and Joyce Brown for their kindness and love during her 9 years in Mississauga.
The family is forever grateful for the prayers, love and support shown to “mom” by many friends and relatives.
Gone but not forgotten. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, Euginna is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure, but we are assured that she has joined her Saviour Jesus Christ and the ancestors that went before her.
