Obituary of Dawn Sherma Francis
Dawn Sherma Francis passed away on Thursday February 3rd, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Peter, her two daughters, Shelkah (Richard) and Sherma, and son, Thomas (Catherine). She is also survived by her mother, Anesta Timothy, and her brothers, David (Maria), Bert, and Nicholas (Cheryl).
Dawn was born on September 17th, 1961, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. She came to Canada with her family at the age of 13 and attended Vaughan Road High School with her siblings. Dawn loved and excelled at music where she played the clarinet well into her young adult years. After graduating high school, Dawn and Peter met working part time at a nursing home, and the two would eventually go on to attend York University. The two would marry, build, and grow their family with guidance from God, and strong belief in their vision for the future. Dawn loved to laugh, dance, sing and cook! And could she cook! Dawn and Peter, in their later years, found a love for travel that would manifest in them seeing a lot of Canada (with their children), the US, South America, and other Caribbean countries.
Visitation for Dawn Francis will be at New Haven Funeral Centre on Wednesday, February 9th from 4pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, February 11th starting 12pm at Praise Cathedral Worship Centre in Mississauga – there will be an hour long viewing at 11am, preceding the service.
