Obituary of Myrtle May Shim

Myrtle May Shim, age 88, passed away peacefully Monday, January 23, 2023, in Brampton.

She was born February 11, 1934 in St Mary, Jamaica WI. As a young women she immigrated to Canada as a domestic worker, then later obtained a position with Crown Cork and Seal, where she remained for over 20 years until she retired. During her employment, she worked extremely hard and managed to bring her children to Canada, in order to provide them with a chance for a better future. Family and friends describe her as strong willed and determined when it came to achieving her goals in life. 

Myrtle is survived by her children: Rose Wilson, Vincent Shim, Michael Parks, Angela Parks, Torence Parks (Kim), and Valerie Parks. She will be greatly missed by her sister Sydodney Glenn, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
