Simone was a strong, determined person who cared for and loved helping others. She was definitely a people person, I will miss our long weekly conversations. As I write this tribute, I am just thinking what should I write about Simone. To me, Simone was that type of young woman any mother would like her children to be around. She was very respectable, she carried herself as a lady of order, always well kept.
She was very determined, if she set out to do something, she never allowed anything to deter her, she made sure that whatever was her aim she would certainly achieve it. Most of all, I admire her faith in God. She was never afraid to let anyone she came in contact with, know what she believed and in whom she believed. She will surely be missed by everyone especially her PFG Int'l family. I have the assurance that we will meet again and oh, how joyful that will be when we meet never to part again for death itself will die.

My friendship with Simone is more than 30 yrs she was my daughter Kacy God mother and even though she was younger than I could have always call her for advice whenever I am having an issue. Whenever I have to go to a party I would always video call her to ask what dress to wear and bet your bottom dollar Simone would tell what to wear to look elegant. I would miss our long conversation we would talk about every thing and any thing and even share jokes and have lots of laughter. I am still in denial that one of my best friend has gone and is no more with us.I still want to know why God had to take such a good soul.I would describe Simone as a good sermartian she was caring, generous, patient and helpful. Greetings from Maryland Everyone,
• I am Fianna Holder- Phill, Simone was my coworker at EPA from 2000, for 7 years, this was also my /first & only job in Guyana. We were from different divisions but became friends instantly, maybe because we shared a lot in common, January 21 & 22 birthdays, Donnette’s daughter, Danika, is our godchild, our beliefs, values, work ethics, and even health scares. She was also my mom’s Barbara Thomas-Holder, student in social work at UG.
• I don’t remember us ever disagreeing either. She made work-life interesting and balanced. I looked forward to our lunchtime hangs and conversations – our initial crew was 5 including Samantha, Denise, and Donnette from IAST, then it grew with 8 others. There was never a dull moment for us.
• Simone was present for all the important moments in my life. We traveled to the US on vacation the same summer. She was my shoulder to cry on at work when I was denied a renewal US visitor’s visa.
• We attended several events together, including international cricket matches, with my twin Fiona and her sister Karen and friends’ weddings, parties, and other activities.
• She was there at my surprise engagement birthday celebration and post-grad farewell party. She kept a farewell lunch for me, at her home when I was migrating. She wasn’t present at our wedding, and neither was I at hers, but she was one to surprise us with a video greeting.
• Simone was the most friendly, frank, witty, helpful, faithful, caring, loving, giving, fashionable, sociable, and outgoing person, with an army of friends. I have never seen more friends and pictures on anyone’s Facebook.
• It shook me when I saw on FB that Simone was no longer with us. I barely slept that night and pondered, why you, why now, why so young?
• Knowing she was alone in Canada, and everyone would wish for her to be buried in Guyana, her beloved homeland. I felt compelled to initiate my very first GoFundMe Page with her family’s support. Like she was speaking to me. As expected, within 2 weeks we met ¾ of the goal and I am confident we will surpass it because she was blessed and highly favored, surrounded by a community of family, friends, and coworkers who loved her.
• It saddens me that we never got to meet in North America, I saw her last over 7 years ago. So sorry, I cannot be there in person, but thanks to technology and her family, I am here and most grateful for 23 years of great friendship and fond memories.
• Farewell Simone from my family and all of us from EPA Guyana & IAST and thank you for your excellent service in the Document Centre, especially from your EIT group. Fly high my girl, I am consoled knowing it is well with your soul, as she knew and loved the lord. Now soar with the angels, until we meet again.
• To her mom Marie, Sister Karen, Aunt Maggie & others, you did well by Simone, she loved you all dearly and will watch over you. Thanks!
