My deepest sympathies go out to our family, as we mourn the loss of our "Dear" one Lola.
Sleep on my "Dear Cousin" , as you have always lived in HOPE, we all will find comfort in "1 Thessalonians 4: 13&14.

Condolence to the Rookwood family. Lola was a good friend of the Reid/Brown family for over 40 years. She is now in the arms of her saviour where there is joy and peace and no more pain. As the psalm says "Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning". I encourage Dwayne and Mitzy to be strong and lean on each other for strength.

Sis Lola,
A woman of courage, grace, loving and kind. I met her at church and right away I knew she was no nonsense very straight forward that was just her she had driven me to work went out of her way so I wouldn’t be late, we had a long conversation and I couldn’t believe she was still working at that time. Wow even all she was going through. She kept pressing on she fought until the end. Hard working God fearing woman of God. Journey well Sis Lola.

I loved how Sis Lola suppoted me in ministry...She believed in me...believed in what I did....believed I was Called to do what I'm doing....How I miss Sis Lola so much...She was so kind and giving to me (and my family)...I will miss when we as a group would have late nights hanging out at Tim Horton drinking french vanilla and laughing about everything...Sis Lola I'm still crying about yyour passing...love you even on death.

I enjoyed seeing Sis.Lola drop her grandson off at daycare some mornings.
I also enjoyed going to the Regional COG women's retreat and often we were seated at the same table. She was a woman of elegance and put herself together well.

I know Lola as a colleague and a pal for approximately 25 years. She has been a loyal friend to many. Lola loves her grandkids and if you should stop by her desk, her grandkids adorn her office and like all grandparents; she goes on about their achievements. Lola has much to be proud of as an employee of the Canadian Federal Public Service for 40 years. She was an excellent seamstress. Lola loves the "sales" and I remember her kindness when she bought me a winter slipper I had looked at ,but could not find the size. She went back to the sale and searched and found my size and gifted me that slipper. I remember many other acts of her kindness.
As an employee of Canada Border Services Agency, I remember part of the 40 years when Lola came to work in Trade. IN Trade she did the best job she could do, given the circumstances. I started with her in Trade in the early 90's when Trade Compliance was in its' infancy. Best Practises in trade continued to evolve to what it is today and Lola evolved with the job.
When we, the living measure our achievements, these have to be taken in context of how far we have come from our humble beginnings. Lola has achieved so much. Those who know her as a friend and as fellow employees of CBSA should laud her valiant efforts in bringing up her family while earning a decent salary to give her family all the amenities of life. Rest in Peace dear Lola. God's divine grace to your family and friends and loved ones, you left behind.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives: Be kind anyway. If you are successful you will win some false friends and true enemies: Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank people will try to cheat you: Be honest anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight: Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous of you: Be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten by tomorrow: Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough: Give your best anyway.
