Few CAREGivers at Home Instead – if any – can match the bevy of honors Michelle accumulated. She was selected as the franchise’s Holly Jean Award winner in 2016, 2021 and 2022. In June 2023, Michelle earned her first CAREGiver of the Month accolade. Among the considerations for achieving CAREGiver of the Month status, Michelle has has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Empathy and compassion were taken into account for the award, as well as skill and wisdom for dealing with challenging situations. Michelle embodied Home Instead’s guiding principles of “Build Trust, Take the Lead and Share Your Heart.” Her focus on Home Instead’s training, continuing education, processes and procedures of successful caregiving helped her achieve the awards. Each time she was honored, Michelle consistently returned to her recurring theme when explaining why she has been singled out by her clients, their families and the Home Instead staff for her acclaim. “I always have seen myself as a helpful person. When I get a chance to help someone, I’ll do it,” Michelle said. “I love my job and find it very rewarding, especially when my clients are satisfied with the level of care they receive from me. I am pleased when they say, ‘Thank you’ as I end a shift.
