Obituary of Joseph Livingstone Currie

Joseph Livingstone Currie, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away on July 1, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on November 9, 1950, in Clarendon, Jamaica. Joseph was known for his free spirit, kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for his friends and family.

Joseph was a devoted husband to Verona Currie, his wife of  51 years, and a loving father to three children: Aristotle (and his wife Samantha), Horatio, and Shari (and her husband Michael). He was also a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren.  He was an avid gardener, loved dancing and was known for his incredible storytelling. His warm smile and infectious  spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Joslyn and Ethlyn Currie, his brothers, Kingsbert, Gilbert, Giftyman, Frenchie, and Myrtle. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and his brother Herbert and his sister Ruby.

A celebration of Joseph’s life will be held on July 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM at New Life Covenant Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.  Joseph’s legacy of love, kindness, and community service will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered. His departure comes as a great shock, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply in his wide-network of community. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time.
