Obituary of Verona Wright

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Verona Wright, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She left us far too soon, but her legacy of love, generosity, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

The eldest of Joycestin and Leander Ferguson nine children and her bonus mother Eliza Brown, Verona grew up in a close-knit family, where the values of love, loyalty, and care for others were instilled in her from a young age. She is predeceased by her parents and four siblings, but she carried their memories with her every day.

As the matriarch of her family, Verona was the glue that held our family together. She was a constant source of support, wisdom, and unconditional love to her three children Donnette(Andy), Antoinette and Shaun, her six grandchildren, Kiana, Caziah, A.J. Brooklynn, Kingston and Soleil who were the center of her world. She made sure that her family knew just how deeply she loved them, offering a sense of security and warmth that will be sorely missed.

Verona is survived by her four siblings Stanley(Dian), Marjorie, Ella(Alcot) and Brenella who will miss her greatly, as well as countless nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and generosity. Verona was a pillar in her community, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word. Her spirit of giving was boundless, and she shared her heart freely with all.

Her passing has left an irreplaceable hole in the hearts of those who loved her, a wound that will never truly heal. But in the midst of their sorrow, her family and friends will forever carry her memory with them, finding strength in the love she gave so selflessly.
