Obituary of Elsadia Imogene Hamilton

We are sad to announce the passing of our dear mother Elsadia Imogene Bedward Hamilton on Dec 14, 2024. She will be truly missed as not only a mother, grandmother and aunt to many, but also a dear friend, confidant and a shoulder to lean on for many more.

Born on Dec 7, 1949, in Clarendon, Jamaica, to Cyril Bedward and Catherine Gardiner.  Elsadia made her way to Canada for a better life in 1967, working for Canada Packers until she eventually joined Bombardier De Havilland, in 1987, where she worked as one of the few women in the male dominated field of airplane building and assembly. This was her career for 24 years until she retired in 2009.

Elsadia is survived by her children Curlene, Micheal (Wayne), Carl, Sheldon, Natalie (Cindy) and Marsha. Siblings: Maud, Willel and Jim. Her grandchildren: Shannon, Jovaun, Jordon, Jade, Shameka, Shuqwan, Umoya, Nathaniel, Joshua, Dejamar, Rayqwan, Lattrel, Makaila, Sanaa, Ashleigh, Christian, Malia, Jahsai, Prynce, Jaylin, Nyela, Makai, DJ, Arielle, Carter, Michael, Donte, Destiny, Waynelle, Dewayne, Azalea, Shiloh, Xavier, Nalani, and Omere. Great-grandchildren: Theo, Hayden, Lauryn, Hera, KaIdYn and Serena.
