I watched my dear sister Geneive take her last breath, peacefully, on March 8th, 2019. She was surrounded by her loving children, family and friends and the pain still takes my breath away. Her saddened eyes have left an indelible stain.
There is so much to say, many memories to share about a wonderful sister who cared. Geneive was an angel. A friend to my spirit, and a gift to my heart. She was a lifelong friend I could count on. She was always ready to love, comfort, and defend me. She lifted me up with the love she imparted to her children, grandchildren, family and all those she knew.
Sometime ago, we lost our dear mother, brother and now sister; they were pillars in my life. I truly feel lost without my sister; we were close.
I am asking the Lord to hold my sister's hand and lead her to a wonderful and peaceful place. I ask this of you because she was an angel who is gone too soon and will be missed, especially by her children, grandchildren, family and friends. I will hold dear all the precious memories we shared.
My heart is broken.

When I think of my aunt Genieve, I automatically hear her beautiful laughter in my head. She loved to laugh and enjoy life, from what I remember. My fondest memory was when she taught me not to be afraid when I was only a little child. I was afraid of dogs and one day she picked me up and carried me outside to sit with my grandmother's dog, which was tied up but barking, and I cried and cried until I realized that nothing happened to me and there was nothing to be afraid of. That day I learned how to be brave. I'm so sad that she's no longer here with us, but her big beautiful smile and infectious laughter will play in my mind forever.

I didn't know Genieve as long or as well as some of the other people she worked with, but she brought a ray of sunshine to everyone's lives every day she was here, and every time I talked to her. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends, and the loss of such a bubbly, sunny, and warm person is always a tragedy. As the song says, "we're here for a good time, not a long time, so have a good time, the sun can't shine every day". Genieve was here and she had a great time while she was. Remember her smile, remember her laugh, she will always be missed, but we should celebrate her life and how much she enjoyed it. She was a fighter to the end, and knowing we won't ever see her again is tough, but I believe that some higher power, be that God or someone else, is much happier right now having Genieve around to now brighten their day. I am saddened by Genieve's passing. I will hold you all in my thoughts and I hope you all will be able to hold onto your happy memories and be reassured by such a remarkable woman and her example in your lives.
I worked with her on many difficult cases and she was always diligent, showed concern and compassion and did her work as a true vocation, not just a job. She was full of life and eager to interact and do the best for her clients.
She was a wonderful example of living life to the fullest, finding joy and seeing the positive in life.
I will treasure my memories of her.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family of Genieve. I met Genieve over a year ago. I was new to the office and didn't know much people here. Genieve always made it a point to check up on me and make sure I was okay and always provided motivating/encouraging words. I always called her my "work mother".
