Obituary of Lucius Emmanuel Excell

With profound sadness, the family of Lucius Emmanuel Excell (Cass) announces his passing at the age of eighty-two on March 20, 2021 at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, Ontario. 

Lucius was born on May 31, 1938 in Flamstead, Jamaica.  He attended Mico Teachers' College where he trained as a teacher then he taught at Kingston College, Jamaica.

He immigrated to Canada on November 6, 1965.  He attended Windsor University and OISE (University of Toronto).

He taught in Oshawa and Brampton and retired June, 2001.

He is survived by his daughters Rosemary and Daymara, and sister Enid (BC).

The family wishes to thank everyone for their expressions of sympathy and love during this difficult time.

TO ATTEND THE VISITATION: 

Upon arrival there will be covid screening questions and contact tracing performed for all guests.

We will be accepting guest(s) in groups of 20ppl max per time period(s).

PANDEMIC CAPACITY UPDATE: 

INDOOR CEREMONIES: 50 person maximum capacity permitted in the entire funeral home

CHAPEL CAPACITY: 50 person maximum

OUTDOOR CEREMONIES: 50 person maximum at the cemetery.

Please note: children and babies also account for numbers.

Staff will continuously be monitoring capacity numbers. Once we have reached capacity, guests will be asked to remain outside, as there is NO gathering in the funeral centre at anytime.

MANDATORY:  Face masks must be worn inside of the funeral centre at all times.
