Rose as you rest my many years spent with you will fondly be remembered through each passing day. My most memorable times were the numerous hours we spent walking the malls and supermarkets jointly giving trouble and messing with people you dont even know.
I fondly remember the hours we spent at Reynolds where you would always have a well cooked meal for me to eat during our lunch time. You always wanted to be the first to reach work, the last to start work and the last to leave.
You were a great mother in law to me and an awesome grandmother to my children.
Thank you for all the wonderful times we shared together, the memories will certainly live with us forever. I love you and will forever remember your generosity and love shared with me.
Yours truly, your 1st and life long favourite son-in-law... John ... PRESSHA

Nobody loved calaloo more than Mrs Mattis (whom I affectionately called ‘Mom’). I remember our last encounter August 2020 when she called me several times to say ‘Tameka you not coming for the calaloo, mi cut it up and put it in a ziploc bag for you. Come for it before it spoil’ (smile). I remember Kerry was away at the time and I said to her ok I’ll pop by for a few minutes to get my calaloo. When I got there she was so happy to see me and invited me in to ‘come watch a little CNN wid me and Al nuh’ (smile). I’m surely going to miss her kindness, her cooking, her laughter....I can’t forget the multiple dishes of calaloo and green banana, among other things, that nourished our bodies and brains while studying. I’m going to miss my ‘hang out buddy’ at the family barbecues and get togethers. Our conversations were always lighthearted, funny and just real.
To Mr Mattis, Kerry, Charine, Shelly, the grandchildren, and the rest of the family, my deepest sympathies to you. As you lay her to rest today, I pray that the beautiful memories you hold dear to your hearts will provide comfort, strength and peace. Rest peacefully ‘Mom’.

There are no goodbyes for us, you will always be in our hearts. Time may pass and fade away but memories of you will always stay. Rest In Peace my dear Rose.

It's with deep sympathy I say good bye to a friend, sister and mentor. Rose had been a sister to the Scott's family for over forty-six years. Our girls grew up together and as a family we would often times visit each other. Her husband and my late husband Cecil Scott were like twin brothers, everyone thought they were twins.I last saw her around four years ago when we visited Canada for our forty-fourth wedding anniversary, we had a loving celebration at their house. I will never forget her sumptuous curry goat and steam fish, my husband always talked about Rose's steam fish head and said "It was the biggest fish head he had." Walk good my sister Rose, the Lord knows best. To Mattis and the girls we are here for you and we will continue to pray for comfort for the family.

My deepest condolences to the entire Family, in particular to Shelly and John who became my good friends. I met Mr. & Mrs Mattis a few years ago at their home, and I have never forgotten their warmth and hospitality. Such an angel of a Lady, taken away too soon. God bless her, and may she rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to the family especially Mr. Mattis, Kerry, Charine and Shelly. One of my fondest memories of Mrs. Mattis aka Mom was 5 years ago when I was pregnant and she would call me in her sweet voice speaking full on patois and say “Sophia yuh nah come pick up di callaloo for di baby”. She fed me callaloo throughout my pregnancy and would at times “bad me up” when I would delay picking up my package. They were always cut, washed and ready to cook. I will never forget her wanting me to assign her work at a customer site where one of her grandkids was working to spy and defend her grandbaby if she needed to. Mom going miss your humour, kindness and caring nature.
