Obituary of Marissa Elizabeth Blagrove

The family, fiancé and friends of Marissa Elizabeth Blagrove are deeply saddened to announce her sudden and unexpected passing at the tender age of 29.

To know Marissa was the equivalent of stepping out to a sunny day. She lit up any room she was in with a joy that was contagious. She was blessed with a big heart that was full of love and joy. She was indeed a woman of faith, kind, forgiving, loving and passionate: truly, a woman of virtue. It is these characteristics that bore her love for children and for the arts. This love led her to graduate from York University with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Theatre & Children's Studies. She also received a Master of Arts in Theatre & Performance Studies.

From her studies, she went on to become a theatre director for The Song Spot, Young People's Theatre, and Arts on Fire. She also was a Camp Director for Act One School of Drama. As well as, the House Manager for Flato Markham Theatre. Her tenacity for children was also displayed at her church. In essence,  she was the President of the National Children's Ministry for The Church of God Sabbath-Keeping, as well as the local leader of the Children's Ministry for The Church of God Sabbath-Keeping. For someone so young, she left a huge and lasting impact; so many lives have been touched and changed by her! From all her achievements and accolades, it is easy to see why she was truly loved.

Regarding the topic of love, Marissa met and fell in love with Daniel Gomez – Garcia. They beamed with joy whenever they were together. It was plain to see to all, she truly found the love of her life. His family readily accepted her as one of their own, and were all excited for the day of their nuptials. There is no question that this great loss will not be easily overcome; however, we take comfort in knowing that we are blessed and forever changed to have had the opportunity to know and love her.

Marissa leaves behind her beloved fiancé, Daniel; her parents, Maurice and Carol Blagrove; her brothers and sisters, Malcolm-Alexander, Mayoori, Daniel and Tania; her nephew Jairus and niece Liberty; her friends, and many others who had the privilege to love her and be loved by her.

Marissa, you will never be forgotten; always remembered.
